GABAYA began with a simple refusal: that a beautiful bag should not require an animal. We make handbags from vegan leather in a workshop in Jaipur, in small runs, in shapes meant to outlast the season they were made in.
We wanted a bag that could be carried for ten years without ever having come from an animal. Everything else followed from that.

Design in consideration
Every shape starts on paper and stays there until it earns its place. We draw few pieces, and we keep them in the collection.

Source vegan leather
We work only in vegan leather — 100%, no animal hide anywhere in the bag, lined in polyester and cut to reduce waste.

Handcraft in Jaipur
Panels are set by hand, edges burnished, hardware fitted one piece at a time by a small team we know by name.
